For the past 24 years, I have had the privilege of working with pregnant and parenting teens in Southern California, guiding them through the challenges of high school while raising infants and toddlers. My goal has always been clear: to see these young parents graduate from high school and successfully transition into college or a certification program, ensuring they have the tools to build a bright future for themselves and their children.
More Than Just Education
Beyond academics, I focus on equipping young parents with essential parenting skills—lessons that will serve them long after they cross the graduation stage. Parenting is a lifelong journey, and my mission is to help these teens grow into confident, knowledgeable caregivers who can raise happy, healthy children.
I witness firsthand the daily struggles and pressures teens face. From peer pressure to academic stress, relationships, and social media influences, today’s adolescents are navigating an ever-evolving landscape.
Bridging the Gap for Parents
As an educator, I believe parents need to be aware of what their teens are experiencing. That’s why I share my insights—not just for teen parents but for all parents raising pre-teens and teenagers. The more we understand the challenges our children face, the better we can guide and support them.
My blog is a space where I discuss:
Parenting Tips – Practical advice to help parents connect with and support their teens.
Teacher Tips – Strategies for educators who work with adolescents.
Personal Parenting Experiences – My own successes and mistakes as a parent, shared to inspire and reassure others.
Sex Education & Child Development – Honest, informative discussions to empower parents in tackling tough conversations.
On-Campus Observations – What I see and hear in the hallways, providing real-world insight into teenage experiences today.
Encouraging Meaningful Conversations
Parenting is not about perfection—it’s about learning, adapting, and growing alongside our children. By sharing my experiences and knowledge, I hope to empower parents to address difficult topics with confidence. Whether it’s discussing relationships, mental health, or future goals, open communication is key to raising self-aware, resilient young adults.
Together, we can help the next generation thrive. Let’s start the conversation and build a supportive community that prioritizes education, parenting, and personal growth.
